Indeed, I hope this list becomes a worthwhile space for type designers. And
especially, as you note, for small guys (like myself, too).

One of the nice things is that this list being specifically geared towards
type designers, as opposed to typography in general, we can indulge in
topics ususally considered not relevent, such as what we experience in our
professional life, which may be relevant to the designer himself, rather
than the design.

I also feel this forum can indeed be a great space to toss ideas about how
we consider ourselves, where we may want to go, and what being a type
designer in an electronic world (where most of us where born anyway) at the
end of millenium is all about.

It strikes me that quite a few of the type designers I met at Typecon never
work with paper in their creation process, and where as remote to lead type
as ever. There seems to be, maybe not a gap, but certainly a big cultural
difference with older type designers, at least in the technical approach.
